CHARLOTTE -- Catherine Ford poured in a game-high 19 points as No. 1-ranked Wayne Country Day upended Statesville Christian 56-34 in quarterfinal-round play of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A women's basketball playoffs.
The top-seeded Chargers (25-2 overall) oppose either Trinity of Fayetteville or Cape Fear Christian at 4 p.m. Friday at Charlotte Latin School.
