A few days before a local man undergoes brain surgery, Wayne County residents will gather at Murphy's Place in Mount Olive to raise money for his family.
Paul Bronson, who was rushed from his Mount Olive apartment to Wayne Memorial Hospital in April 2004 when he suffered a brain hemorrhage, is currently in Tampa, Fla., with family and friends.
But this is no vacation.
In fact, the morning of March 2, the 27-year-old is having a section of his temporal lobe removed at Tampa General Hospital, an operation surgeons hope will put an end to the seizures he has experienced frequently since the day in 2004 he went into emergency surgery and nearly died.
Those who wish to leave a donation or well-wishes for the Bronsons can show up at Murphy's Place any time Saturday, but the band won't go on until 10 p.m.
