Cars left on roadside stolen
Two vehicles left on the side of the roadway were reportedly taken by car thieves, Goldsboro police report:
*Roland Jackson of Pou Street reported that his 1998 Buick Regal was stolen from U.S. 117 and Carver Boulevard late on Monday after he left the vehicle there with mechanical problems, Jackson said. The vehicle, valued at $2,500, is a four-door white sedan, police said.
*Tessa Jones of East Hooks River Road reported Monday that a 1993 Chevrolet Corsica she had left in the 2500 block of North William Street had been stolen. Ms. Jones said she noticed the $1,500 vehicle missing on Sunday, police said. The car is a gray four-door sedan, police said.
Magazine racks targeted
After a rash of thefts that targeted News-Argus distribution boxes, thieves targeted magazine racks on Monday, Goldsboro police said. Henry Mundy said he bought the two magazine racks, valued at $100 each, from another business. When Mundy went to pick the boxes up on West Grantham Street and North Berkeley Boulevard, the racks were gone, according to the police report.
