Victim beaten, coat taken
Antionette Brewington, 38, of Alpha Court told Goldsboro police she was beaten and her jacket was stolen on Monday, according to police. The incident occurred inside a tobacco store in the 1300 block of West Grantham Street, police said. Witness Jimmy James, who lives with Ms. Brewington, said he observed the incident outside the store and when he approached, the subject fled, according to the report. The suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, who got into a white minivan driven by another black male near Hardee's. The driver of the car allegedly attempted to hit James with the vehicle when he tried to get license numbers, according to the report.
