Jewelry stolen
Approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from Gold & Diamond on North Berkeley Boulevard Wednesday afternoon, police said. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-feet 5-inches tall, in his 20s, with a heavy build, short, black hair, a black hood. The suspect left the area in a white, four-door 2001 Chevy Lumina driven by a white male, police said.
'Blunt object' attack
Edgardo Harrow, 30, of West Lockhaven Drive, said he was in the parking lot of the Jefferson Court apartments with a female acquaintance of his, according to the report. The female allegedly came at Harrow with a de-icer can, and when he tried to block it, he was struck in the head. That caused a cut and minor injury, police said.
Attempted robbery
A 16-year-old female employee reported that she was trying to empty the trash at Subway on U.S. 117 South in Mar Mac when a black male approached her from the direction of Old Mount Olive Highway, according to the Sheriff's Office report. The man threatened her with a gun for cash, but got none, according to the report. The man is described as about 6-feet tall, with a medium build, in his mid-20s, wearing worn-out, light blue jeans and white shirt with the sleeves cut off. The victim told authorities she believed the weapon was a .22-caliber, small firearm.
