Seymour Johnson AFB jet has 'in-flight emergency'

Moments after an "in-flight emergency" call came in, an F-15E Strike Eagle was seen coming in for landing with its tailhook lowered, an action typically taken in case of an aborted takeoff, brake malfunction or related problem.
An emergency at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base prompted a response from Wayne County personnel Sunday.
Wayne County Emergency Services officials confirmed that they were called to the flight line as a result of "an in-flight emergency," but said they were not authorized to provide further detail.
Moments after the call came in, an F-15E Strike Eagle was seen coming in for landing over Wilber's Barbecue with its tailhook lowered, an action typically taken in case of an aborted takeoff, brake malfunction or related problem.
Additional details about the incident were not available at press time, as 4th Fighter Wing officials are among those off to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
