Red Cross to offer classes in January

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering the following classes in January:
CPR/automated external defibrillator -- Jan. 20 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will cover the basics of how to save a life using CPR and an automated external defibrillator.
Child and infant CPR -- Jan. 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will cover how to do rescue breathing for a child or infant and what to do for a conscious or unconscious choking child or infant.
First aid -- Jan. 22 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will cover standard first aid and how to handle sudden illness, splinting and bandaging wounds.
CPR/automated external defibrillator for the professional rescuer -- Jan. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will cover training for health care professionals for CPR for children and adults. Includes 1 and 2 rescuer CPR.
All classes will be held at the chapter house, 600 N. George St. To register for a class, call 735-7201.
