Armed robbery
Willie Grace of Ball Street told Goldsboro police Sunday that a man approached him in his back yard and brandished a handgun after asking for a light. The man, described as in his mid 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches, wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants, left the scene on foot after stealing about $90 and a handgun from Grace, police said.
Sign stolen
Melvin Cannon of 205 Lucky Oak Road in the Mar Mac community said that someone stole an Adopt-a-Highway sign from his yard on Halloween night. The sign was erected in memory of Cannon's son, Lester Melvin Cannon II. Cannon is asking that whoever took the sign return it and he wouldn't ask any questions or press any charges.
