Jeff Hansen named new business manager at News-Argus

Jeffery Hansen has been named the new business manager for The News-Argus, publisher Hal Tanner Jr. has announced.
Hansen has more than 15 years of experience in managing all phases of newspaper financial operations, serving most recently as the group controller for the Greater Niagara Newspapers. In that role he was responsible for four daily newspaper accounting operations in western New York, managing the activities of the business office staff and handling all monthly closing and financial statement duties.
Prior to that, he was accounting and finance manager for The News-Press in Fort Myers, Fla., where he was responsible for supervising the general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, circulation and advertising billing and financial reporting as well as financial budgeting and analysis.
Hansen worked previously at the Connecticut Post in Bridgeport, Conn., as controller and chief financial officer and was division controller for Thompson Newspapers in Des Plaines, Ill.
He is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, with a degree in business administration and economics. He also holds a master's degree in business administration and finance from the University of Iowa.
He and his wife, Tami, have two grown children who live in Wisconsin.
