Industry tours and the naming of the county's top industry of the year will be the highlights of this year's "Wayne County Industry Celebration Week" is scheduled for Monday through Thursday.
The Wayne County Development Alliance Inc. hosts the annual industry celebration each year to thank the more than 50 major manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers in the county.
In addition to the representatives from local businesses and industries, other guests will include officials from the N.C. Department of Commerce, utility companies, local and state elected officials, and community leaders.
The event will get under way with a golf tournament at Walnut Creek Country Club.
On Wednesday, civic, community and business leaders will have the opportunity to tour three industries in Wayne County, the new AT&T Technical Support Center at Mar-Mac, Reuel Inc. and Holly Grove Farms near Grantham.
The celebration will culminate with a reception, dinner and awards ceremony on Thursday at Walnut Creek Country Club. The year's top industry will be named at the reception, as voted on by past recipients.
"This is an annual tradition, one we look forward to every year. It gives us a special opportunity to thank the industries for all they do for Wayne County," said Joanna Helms, president of the Development Alliance.
