Salvation Army taking applications for Christmas help

The Salvation Army is taking applications from people in Wayne and Sampson counties who wish to be recipients of the annual Christmas program for food and toys.
Applications will be accepted Oct. 27 through Oct. 29 at The Salvation Army building, 610 N. William St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those applying should bring:
*Proof of all income (pay stubs, verification of AFDC/Work First, food stamps, etc.)
*Proof of all expenses (utility bill, rent receipt, cable bill, phone bill, etc.)
*Social Security cards of Green Cards or everyone living in the household
*Birth certificates for all children under age 12 living in the household
*Picture identification of applicant
Applicants must have all documentation in order to be considered for benefits.
