Native Americans' history lecture

The Johnston County Genealogical and Historical Society invites the public to attend a presentation Saturday, Nov. 1, on "America without Indians," by Dr. David LaVere.
Dr. LaVere is part of the Road Scholar Program of the North Carolina Humanities Council.
The program will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnston County Public Library at the corner of Market Street (U.S. 70 business) and Third Street in Smithfield. Free parking is available behind the library off Third Street. here is no admission charge.
Native Americans were integral to the development of the United States, its institutions, and its history. Dr. David LaVere will describe to the audience what the Western Hemisphere might have developed had there been no Indians in order to underline their significance to the development of the U.S.
