Rash of break-ins
A rash of break-ins at residential and commercial addresses have similar circumstances surrounding them, according to Goldsboro police and Wayne County Sheriff's Department reports. Goldsboro Chief Tim Bell and Maj. Mike Hopper said law enforcement is working to investigate a number of break-ins where heavy objects are used to break windows and gain entry. The most recent attack was reported at Elayah Food Mart on East New Hope Road on Tuesday morning, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. Nothing was stolen, but a glass panel sustained $700 in damages from a large chain hook, according to a report.
