For those mailing out tax forms, Goldsboro’s two post offices will operate normal business hours today, said Jerome Walters, manager of customer service at Berkeley Station. “Close to 10 years, we have not stayed open late....Tax forms can be brought inside or dropped off in the collection boxes, he added, since postmarks are now done by machine.
The latest trucks depart from Berkeley at 5:45 p.m. and from the William Street office around 6 p.m., he said. Of course, for those who miss that window of opportunity, forms can be obtained and filed online. One electronic filing site is www.irs.gov. You can also file for an extension online.
