Counterfeit reports up
Goldsboro police report a higher-than-usual number of attempts to pass counterfeit money, a crime that tends to run in cycles in police jurisdictions, according to authorities. Police received three reports of people trying to pass counterfeit bills on Thursday, according to reports. Also, the number of counterfeit bill reports is up over the past few weeks, police reports show. Cashiers, tellers and others who handle money should check bills passed to them, especially those with denominations of $20 and higher, authorities have said.
