Junior step show March 29

KENANSVILLE -- The Chi Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will hold its 5th Annual Junior Step Show on Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. at Kenan Memorial Auditorium in Kenansville.
Proceeds from the event will be used to fund local chapter's community service initiatives and for its annual scholarship fund.
Scholarships will be awarded during the awards day ceremonies at local high schools.
Step teams from a number of eastern North Carolina counties will be competing, including Clinton High School, White Oak High School, Lambda Nu Xi in Wilmington, Victorious Praise in the Research Triangle Park and Wake Chapel in Raleigh.
The Goldsboro High School drumline also will make a special appearance.
Tickets will be available from any member of the Chi Iota Omega chapter in advance. Tickets also will be available at the door. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6. Concessions will be sold.

The sorority is celebrating its 100th year this year. It was founded in 1908 as a sisterhood dedicated to service and improving the stature of women.
