Home fired upon

Monica Brewer and Dorris Williams of West Holly Street reported that their residence was shot into on Thursday night, causing $800 in damages, Goldsboro police said.

Investigations

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

*Deacon Jones Nissan reported the theft of a 2003 Honda Accord from the lot at 1220 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro. The car was last secured Nov. 1, and the theft of the $12,000 black two-door was discovered during an inventory.

*A common law robbery was reported Friday night. Thomas Jefferson Dawson of Saulsberry Drive said he was working on a house in Franklin Court and had gone out to his truck to get tools when three black men he does not know jumped into the back of the truck with him. He said they began assaulting him and removed his wallet containing cash and several credit cards and his cell phone from his pockets. All were valued at $320. The report said Dawson received several cuts to his face, but he did not require medical attention.

*Police investigated a robbery with a dangerous weapon Friday afternoon at an apartment on Cashwell Drive, the home of one of the victims, Rob Atkins. Atkins said two black men entered the apartment through the unlocked front door. One of the men displayed a handgun and told him and his friend to look at the floor, then asked for their money. Atkins said he gave the men $850 in cash, and his friend, Ralph Bunger of Harding Drive, gave them his $200 cell phone. The men fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction, but a witness told police she saw four people in the car.

*Donald D. Warren of Salisbury Goldsboro police Thursday his vehicle was broken into while parked in the 900 block of North Spence Avenue, and a $1,000 global positioning satellite unit was stolen, police said.
