Vehicle fire
Ronnie Junior Fleming of Pleasant Pines Drive said he was visiting a friend at a West Oak Street address when he found his glove box on fire on Tuesday, city police said. Papers inside the glove box had been set ablaze, causing $2,000 in damage to the dash of the Ford Ranger, police said.
Vehicle break-ins

Wayne County Sheriff's Office Capt. Tom Effler said areas around Buckswamp Road area have suffered a rash of vehicle break-ins and vandalism of Christmas decorations and other items over the past few days.
Thefts
*Shirleane Smith of Fulton Road, Dudley reported Tuesday night that $1,200 in cash was stolen from her vehicle while parked at the Food Lion on Five Points Road, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
*Helen Faye Lewis of Old Black Creek Road, Fremont reported $500 worth of hand tools stolen from her home on Tuesday morning, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
