Thanks to good weather, work on the restoration of the old city hall building is ahead of schedule, according to city officials. The $4 million project begun in April is expected to be completed by February. The work not only includes refurbishing the 100-year-old structure, but installing new electrical lines, plumbing and sprinkler system and a new roof. A bridgeway will be constructed to connect the old building with the new adjacent City Hall complex and a fountain will be built between the two. Daniels and Daniels Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project.
