Gunshot damages
Felicia Jones of West Oak Street reported she heard gunshots after midnight and later found $500 worth of gun-caused damage to her Mitsubishi Galant. Neighbors Shonta Edwards and Shontelle Poole also reported damages to their apartments caused by gunfire around the same time.
Theft
Patricia Leake, of Raleigh, reported stolen her Toyota Camry, valued at $4,000, from a parking lot on North George Street between 6 and 9 p.m. on Monday.
Crime of the Week
Grantham School has suffered three break-ins since January, Goldsboro Police report. During the last break-in, sometime between the night of Aug. 8 and the morning of Aug. 9, two laptop computers and a glucose monitor were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers can remain anonymous and could receive up to $1,000 if their information leads to a felony arrest.
Clarification
Edna Owens Baker said a report published Tuesday that her home was broken into was wrong. The theft of jewelry she reported to law enforcement officers should have indicated that her home was not locked at the time and that the thefts occurred while her home was being repaired, she said.
