Nominations are being taken for the 2007 North Carolina Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service.
Forms are available at Volunteer Wayne/RSVP office at Wayne Community College or by calling Barbara Stiles at 735-5151, ext. 702. The deadline for returning the forms is 4 p.m. Sept. 6.
Nominations will be evaluated by the Wayne County Association of Volunteer Administrators. Five will be selected. One of the five will receive the Medallion Award, the highest state award for outstanding volunteer service.
This is the 29th year of the program that showcases North Carolina's most dedicated volunteers, according to Mrs. Stiles. "Through the years, North Carolinians have proven their concern and compassion for their neighbors by volunteering in their local communities."
