Courses in medical terminology and nurse aide exam preparation will be offered online this fall at Wayne Community College.
The Continuing Education Department will sponsor the offerings.
Medical Terminology, a foundation course for both individuals already employed in allied health occupations and those interested in healthcare occupations, cover common medical terms, roots and abbreviations. The class runs Aug. 20 through Dec. 7 and costs $60.
Nurse Aide I State Exam Preparation is designed for individuals who need to review skills prior to taking the state exam. It covers all 25 skills within the state testing pool as well as fundamental information. The course is scheduled for Aug. 27 through Sept. 28 and the fee is $55.
A limited number of seats remain in the Continuing Education Allied Health courses that will be offered on campus this fall. Students can still register for the morning pharmacy technician course that starts Aug. 21, the evening medication aide course that starts in September and the morning Nurse Aide II course that starts in October. A nurse aide refresher class will be offered later in the year.
Students can register and pay fees in advance in the Walnut Building or at the first class meeting. For more information, call Margaret Roberton at 735-5151.
