Pedestrian
hit by car
James Thomas Brown, Jr., 68, South Claiborne Street, was hit by a car on William Street Monday around noon.
Brown is a lawyer with Duke & Brown lawfirm on East Walnut Street.
Tavoris Lee Kelly, 25, South Church Street, Mount Olive, was traveling south on William Street when he struck Brown who was crossing the roadway. After stricking the pedestrian, Kelly continued traveling southwest on William Street and collided into a parked vehicle owned by Esther Grady Perara.
Brown was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital after the accident. He was reported to be in fair condition today, hospital officials said.
Thefts reported
*Someone stole a GMC Sonoma truck and cell phone, all valued at $9,299.99, from Tarheel Housing Center, Inc. on North Jefferson Street.
*Someone stole five copper downspouts, all valued at $2,500, from the Wayne County Public Library on East Ash Street.
*James Arnold Johnson reported someone broke into his home on East Holly Street and stole jewelry valued at $3,625.
*Curtis Mcclarin reported that someone stole his white Ford Taurus, valued at $800, from Johnson Lane.
*Steven Ray Eastman, 52, reported that someone stole a motor scooter, valued at $1,600, from his porch.
*Someone stole a Ford Taurus and Nissan Sentra, all valued at $10,000, from A & A Auto Rental.
Missing
Stephanie "Luda" Lynette Smith,14, Isler Street, was reported missing Monday night by her mother. She was wearing a shirt with red and gold writing, blue jean shorts and gold sandals. She was last seen at her home. Her mother reported that she had run away several times before but that she had never been gone this long.

*Julian Javon Colbert, 18, Linen Lane, Dudley, larceny from the person, $1,500.
Goldsboro police filed these charges:
*Carlos Atkinson, 46, Oleander Avenue, possession of cocaine, order for arrest, $10,000.
*Adrian "Mo" Jones, 22, Oleander Avenue, larceny, resist, delay and obstruct, $500.
*Donald Lee Artis, 56, North Alabama Avenue, communicating threats, assault on a female, $500.
*Gerrod Bynum, 34, East Elm Street, simple assault, communicating threats, no bond.
*Scott Micheall Nielsen, 18, Bill Circle, order for arrest, written promise.
*Cleveland Devine Hill, 35, Pineland Drive, larceny, assault on a female, no bond.
*Melody Head Raynor, 35, Royall Avenue, soliciting for prostitution, $500.
*Randy Josh Randall, 34, Curtis Drive, Garner, speeding, no operator license, fictitious or revoked registration tag, $1,000.
*Joseph Richard Blanchard, 42, West Vail Street, Pikeville, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphenalia, $1,000.
*Johnnie Franklyn Gervin, 49, West Vail Street, Pikeville, possession of cocaine, order for arrest, $1500.
