Assault, robbery
A Goldsboro man was robbed Friday night after he gave a cigarette to a stranger and the three men accompanying him. Victor Carson Jones of North George Street said he was leaving a store at 622 N. Madison Ave. when a black man called him over asking for a cigarette. He said the men assaulted him and took his wallet containing $30 in cash, ID cards and his social security card and ran. Goldsboro police said Jones was treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital and released.
Investigations
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the following reports:
*Someone broke into Steen Eric Kenion's car while it was parked in the 600 block of North Audubon Avenue. The theft was discovered Friday morning.
*Somebody entered Peggy Crocker Wadsworth's car while it was parked at her driveway on Park Avenue and stole a $400 .357 revolver owned by Tommy Leroy Page.
Thefts, robberies
*Someone stole $120 from Goldsboro Family Physicians, 2607 Medical Office Place.
*Michele Bass said someone stole a computer and othker electronic devices, valued at $2,599, from her car while it was parked in the 100 block of Fallin Boulevard. The property belonged to Wayne County Public Schools Diagnostic Center, 811 Bain St.
*Joshua Scott Thompson reported someone robbed him Tuesday in the parking lot at 2600 U.S. 117 South and got away with $40.
*Michael Neil Sims said someone broke into his home in the 100 block of Esther Drive, Pikeville, and stole a computer, camera, handgun and other items, all valued at $1,995.
