Robbery
A hold-up was reported around 5:43 a.m. Saturday at The Pantry on E. Ash Street. Employee Doreen Olsen described the subject to Goldsboro police as being a 45-year-old bald black manwith a mustache, about 5-feet-6 and 130 pounds. She said he entered the store and was believed to have a gun when he demanded money from the cash register. He allegedly threatened to kill her before grabbing $60 from the register and $127 worth of cigarettes from a shelf before fleeing the store.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*At Wayne Roofing and Sheet Metal Company on Herman Place, a secured fence area were reportedly entered by an unknown subject around 2:10 a.m. Saturday and set fire to a truck, worth $38,000, according to a report filed by Carl Steed. Another $4,000 worth of damages were also reported to a white Ford truck in the lot.
*Acity of Goldsboro worker reported the theft of $15,450 worth of items from three work trailers and a work truck sometime overnight Thursday. Terry Cox told police locks were cut off two vehicles and several chainsaws and toolboxes and miscellaneous tools were taken. Two 60-foot rolls of copper were also taken.
*John Everette of Beale Street said a padlock was broken off a shed at the residence Friday and among the items taken were a gas weedeater, gas hedge trimmer, electric weedeater, 19-inch color T, toolbox and assorted tools. Estimated value of the items was $1,260.
*A gun was reported stolen from an unsecured vehicle parked on the 300 block of Aubudon Avenue early Friday morning. Allen Carmichael of Piedmont Airline Road described the gun as a silver semi-automatic pistol.
Thefts reported
*A store manager at Subway, 2601 E. Ash St. reported an employee stole $250 from the register. A surveillance video camera allegedly captured the incident.
*Lakyla Reness Sanders reported someone stole a Mac-9 and a 45-caliber pistol, all valued at $758.95, from a closet in her home in the 200 block of Rosewood Avenue.
*Judy Merila Davis reported she left her purse on the counter at Food Lion, 219 N.C. 111 South. When she realized it was missing, she returned to the store a few minutes later and discovered her purse was gone. The purse contained $80, jewelry, a cell phone and other items, valued at $1,691, according to the Goldsboro police report.
*Caprice Lashawn Howard reported someone broke into her home in the 800 block of Maple Street and stole a laptop computer, valued at $520.
*Keith Allen Crabill reported a robber approached as he got into his car in the 1700 block of East Holly Street and demanded money. Thinking it a joke, Crabill ignored the request and got into his car to leave. The robber displayed a handgun and demanded money again. He snatched $40 and ran.
*Hesham Mohamed Hadwan reported someone stole $2,300 from the countertop at Safe Way, 1901 B. William St.
Reward offered
A $3,000 reward is being offered for the recovery of two 1849 Springfield muskets with bayonets attached and one 8mm Mauser. The Civil War rifles were stolen from a home on Miller's Chapel Road June 19. Anyone with information is asked to call Wayne County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Mike Reid or Deputy Larry Mitchell at 731-1481.
Suspects sought
The Mount Olive Police Department is searching for two suspects and they are asking for the public's help.
Lapleasure Artis, 30, is being sought for larceny from a person on June 26. She resided in Goldsboro, but is known to frequent the Mount Olive area.
Rickie Usher, 34, also is being sought for larceny from the person on June 20. Usher resided in Mount Olive, but might be living in the Dudley area, police said.
