Johnson honored by Continentals

Comatha B. Johnson, president of the Goldsboro chapter of Continental Societies Inc., was inducted into the national organization's Hall of Fame at the national conclave in Phoenix, Ariz.
Continental Societies Inc. is an international service organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children and children with special needs.
Ms. Johnson has served as chapter president for eight years. She has received the Gertrude Cox Service Award and was the first recipient of the Mid-Atlantic Region's Florence Blount Leadership Award. She currently serves as Mid-Atlantic Regional director and sergeant-at-arms for the national organization.
Ms. Johnson also has served as chairman of a number of committees and activities in the society and helped the local chapter win numerous awards.
The Goldsboro chapter was organized in 1961 by Gertrude Cox.
