Six Wayne County residents are $1,000 richer because of the July 4 Sizzlin Millionaire Raffle computer drawing.
Nobody has come forward yet, Linda Ashworth of the N.C. Education Lottery Commission said Tuesday. She said the winning ticket numbers will be posted on the commission's Web site at www.nc-educationlottery.org as soon as they are verified.
The commission has verified four $1 million winners and five $100,000 winners. There were 500 people who won $1,000 each.
The tickets went for $20. Two of the winners bought their tickets at the Handy Mart 2 at 1094 N. Breazeale Ave., Mount Olive and the Gas and Go Convenient Mart at 4673 N. U.S. 117, Pikeville. Four wining tickets were sold in Goldsboro at the Handy Mart 50 at 2830 W. U.S. 70, the Handy Mart 58 at the corner of U.S. 70 and N.C. 111, across the highway from there at the Hasty Mart 28 and at the Hasty Mart 25, also known as Spence Market, at 900 N. Spence Ave.
Winning tickets have gone out twice now from not only the Spence Market but also from the U.S. 70 and N.C. 111 intersection.
The managers at the stores are asking the winners to let them know if they bought the winning tickets from their stores. Winners have to go to Greenville to pick up the cash. The local stores can only pay out up to $599.
