KENLY -- The survivor of a crash that killed two high school students late last month has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities discovered Travis Whitley Foster, 16, of Kenly, to have the drugs and paraphernalia on him at the time of the accident that killed Nicholas Creech, 16, of Selma, and Reece Richardson, 17, of Kenly.
Johnston County Trooper J.M. Dorsey said Friday that Foster was cited for the misdemeanor drug violations and is expected to appear in court to answer the charges in May.
Foster, a passenger in Creech's truck, was seriously injured in the accident.
Foster was hospitalized for several days at WakeMed in Raleigh, but has since been released.
