Subdivision plans approved by county

The Wayne County Planning Board gave its final approval on three plats and three street name changes during its meeting Tuesday night.
Owner and developer Frank Seymour was given final approval by the board to develop 12 lots at Dogwood Estates, located off of Hood Swamp Road. The 11 acres of lots would have vehicle access through a new street, Dogwood Estates Lane, and one stub-out, Racquet Lane, and water and sewer services would be provided by the Eastern Wayne Sanitary District.
Lane Tree Village, located off of Salem Church Road in the Stoney Creek Township, will be the home of 21 more lots on about 30 acres of land. Water service to the lots, owned and developed by Bill Lane, will be provided by the Belfast-Patetown Sanitary District.
Three new public streets, Trailwater Drive, Watergate Court and River Landing Drive, will be constructed to accommodate 33 lots being developed at River Landing, off N.C. 581 .
Nearly all of the residents along Party Street signed a petition to get the street name changed to Ivey Lane, and the board approved the proposal. The road is about a mile long and is located between Hinnant and Nahunta roads. Since Party Road is a public street, the street name change must now be approved by the Board of Commissioners before it is enacted.
In Eden Place, a mobile home park off of Old Grantham Road, the new owner asked the planning board to change two street names -- Newcomb Drive to Red Cedar Lane and Serotina Lane to White Dogwood Lane. The changes were approved.
