The N.C. Cooperative Extension Service and the Wayne County Health Department are sponsoring a fitness program for Wayne County residents.
Wayne Gets Fit! begins Jan. 24 and run through April 10. The program will be held every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 and again from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Wayne Center.
There is a $10 nonrefundable fee plus a $10 "kitty" fee. All kitty money will be pooled and participants meeting their goals at the end of the program will divide the money.
Extension agent Christine Smith said the program is a support group of coworkers and friends who want to increase their total wellness. The program is a comprehensive nutrition and wellness plan that addresses weight management, fitness, exercise, nutrition, goal setting and stress management.
Advance registration is required by Jan. 23. Mail applications North Carolina Cooperative Extension, c/o Christine Smith, P.O. Box 68, Goldsboro, 27533, or taken to the Cooperative Extension Service. For more information, call 731-1525.
