Six charges
A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with six felony offenses in connection with two break-ins.
Scott Alexander Cochrane of Kevin Drive was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $100,000 secured bond.
Cochrane was accused of breaking into a place on Nov. 15 and stealing $2,100 worth of electronic equipment and breaking into a second place Nov. 21 and stealing $815 worth of electronic equipment, Detective Sgt. Rick Farfour said. The equipment has been recovered.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*A combination radio and compact disc player, two amplifiers and two speakers were stolen between Dec. 7 and Thursday from a car at H&H Body Shop at 1000 S. John St., Goldsboro police said. The car's owner, Keyshaun Carmichael Jones of Goldsboro, reported that a speaker box had sustained about $175 in damages. The stolen property was valued at $1,219.
*A laptop computer, a cell phone, a DVD player, DVD movies, a 2005 class ring and children's clothing and games were stolen Thursday from a home in the 200 block of North Hereford Drive, sheriff's deputies said. The resident, T.Y. DeVane, put a $961 value on the property. No sign of forced entry was reported.
Accident
Angela Marie Tucker, 40, of Nahunta Drive, Pikeville, was charged with failure to reduce speed after an accident Thursday on U.S. 70 bypass. Damage was set at $4,000 to Ms. Tucker's car.
Drug charge
A 19-year-old man from Fremont was arrested before dawn today by Goldsboro police and charged with a felony drug offense.Gary Willis of South Vance Street was charged with possession of cocaine. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
Missing
Two men were reported missing Thursday by relatives to Goldsboro police.
*John Joseph Laffiteau, 52, of 500 E. Forest Hill Drive was described as white, 6-feet-1 and 180 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. When he was seen last at 2 p.m. Wednesday, he was wearing blue jeans, white shoes, a blue coat and glasses.
*Steven Lamont Lynah, 18, of 1707-C S. John St. was described as black, 6-feet-1 and 140 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a light complexion. When he was seen last at 11 a.m. Wednesday, he was wearing a black hooded shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.
Anyone with information on the location of either man was asked to call police at 705-6572.
Embezzlement
Goldsboro police arrested a 20-year-old Wayne County man and charged him with embezzlement. Raymond Scott Wiley of Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.
