Carson Thomas, 13, one of two Greenwood Middle School students injured when they were hit by a car at a crosswalk last Friday, remained in critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said today.
Goldsboro police said Carson and a classmate, Mackenzie Wessels, were injured when a sport utility vehicle failed to stop for a red light at a school crosswalk on East Ash Street.
Mackenzie, also 13, was released from Pitt Memorial earlier this week.
Luis Delgado Jesus was charged with reckless driving, driving while license revoked and expired registration. He made his first appearance in Wayne County District Court on Monday and was being held in the county jail. His bond was raised from $1,500 to $5,500 at the request of the district attorney's office, officials said.
