A former day-care worker is facing additional charges of child molestation as a result of an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Demarlo Jemalle Armstrong, 19, whose mother owns Sunshine Day Care Center, was charged Thursday with sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl.
Armstrong already faces charges of first-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a child in a case that involved a 4-year-old girl. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under $200,000 bond.
Armstrong had posted a $100,000 bond after the first charge was filed.
Sunshine Day Care Center, which is located on Lynch Drive in the Mar-Mac community, had its license suspended by the state Department of Health and Human Services's Division of Child Development after the first charges were filed.
The center remains closed.
