Missing Child

Julia Katherine Walker, 17, was reported missing from her home on Jeffery Drive in La Grange by her mother, Nicole Walker. Julia was described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, approximately 140 pounds, with sandy, shoulder-length hair, blue eyes and pale skin. Mrs. Walker told sheriff's deputies that Julia has several piercings in each ear and braces. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown T-shirt and black All-Star tennis shoes.

Deputies make arrest in break-ins

Russell Steven Ward, 35, of R & M Circle, Fremont, has been arrested and charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods as a result of an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. The investigation centered around break-ins and larcenies occurring over several months in the Nahunta, Fremont and Pikeville areas. More charges are possible in other related crimes. Ward's bond was set at $5,000.

Third arrest made in Halloween thefts

Henry Nazier Bermudez, 17, of Courtyard Circle, was arrested by Goldsboro police in connection with a residential break-in that occurred Monday on North John Street. Bermudez was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods, larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Bermudez was placed in the Wayne County Jail. Bond was set at $40,000. Bermudez was also wanted by the Department of Corrections on outstanding warrants. Total bond on all charges was $55,000.

Robbery attempt

Saleh Amin Mohamed, an employee of Midtown Convenience Store at 1901-B N. William St., told police that three black males entered the store Tuesday evening around 7 p.m. One suspect displayed a gun and demanded money from Mohamed. Mohamed dialed 911, and the suspects fled west on Hooks River Road in a white vehicle. The first suspect was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 125 pounds, with a slim build. He had short braids in his hair, and was wearing a blue shirt and multi-colored jacket. The second suspect was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and approximately 125 pounds. He was wore a black scarf on his head, and a brown jacket. Mohamed was unable to described the third suspect.

Investigations

*Teresa K. Smith of Herring St.,, Seven Springs, reported an unknown person entered her home through a back window. Missing from the home was a PlayStation 2 system valued at $200, and approximately 100 video games, valued at $2,000.

*Leretha P. Ashley reported an unknown person broke pipes to the water pump at her home on Party Road in Pikeville. Damage to the pipes was set at $200.

*Rayshawn Cobb of Running Deer Circle, Dudley, told deputies that an unknown person pried open a back window to gain entry to his residence. Missing from the home were a gold chain, two Xbox systems, various video games, and remote-controlled vehicles. Items stolen included those owned by Cobb and roommate Kendrix E. Roddick. Total valued of missing items was set at $1,498.

Goldsboro police are investigating the following incidents:

*Corbett Cummings, an employee of Lee, Inc. reported a car CD player missing from a 2001 Chevrolet Prizm, owned by the company, while the vehicle was parked in the company lot at 113 S. Berkeley Blvd. Damage to the rear driver's-side door was set at $150, while the CD player was valued at $200.

*Claire J. Lundberg of Taylor Place reported an unknown person broke into her 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora while it was parked at her residence. Missing from the vehicle was a watch and Mag-Lite flashlight. Total valued of missing items was set at $180.

*Richard E. Hinson reported an unknown person damaged a chain-link fence owned by Kirkwood Retirement Community at 2710 Langston Dr. Damage was set at $100.

*A Belk's employee told police that a woman put two Fossil belts in her pocketbook. Employees took the woman to Loss Prevention and called police. Jane Ellen Carter of Nahunta Road, Pikeville was given a uniform citation, charged with shoplifting, and released.

*Alexander Wozniak reported damage to the left rear bumper of his 2001 Ford Taurus while in the parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement at 1201 N. Berkeley Blvd. Damage was estimated at $150.

*Sally Sayer reported an unknown person took her wallet from a desk at the Wayne County Health Department at 301 N. Herman St. Maroon in color, the wallet contained identification, driver's license, credit and check cards, and $38 in cash.

*An unknown person took construction materials valued at more than $850 from a site on Kings Way. Robert Coggins of SLH II, Inc. reported several boxes of vinyl siding, squares of soffit and PVC coil missing from the site.

*Joyce Gwaltney told police an unknown person removed the license plate from her 1998 Buick Park Avenue while it was parked at Wayne Memorial Hospital. The license plate was numbered SVK1907.

The following persons were charged with crimes by Goldsboro police:

*Kris Avon Martin, 26, E. Kelly Street, Mount Olive, failure to carry, red light violation, $500 bond.

*Michael L. Jacobs, 46, Elton Drive, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, expired inspection, $1,600 bond.

*Ronald Michael Banks Sr., 39, Marshall Street, assault with deadly weapon, $1,000 bond.

*Jeanette Katrina Darden, 31, E. Walnut Street, financial identity fraud, forgery and uttering, possession of marijuana, $6,000 bond.

*Alexander Pone, 37, Elizabethtown, obtaining property by false pretenses, $8,000 bond.

*Shaun Brown, 30, Shaw Court, assault on a female, no bond.

*Aaron Figueroa, 43, Colonial Terrace Drive, two counts order for arrest, $5,500 bond.

Wrecks

*Katie E. Jones, 17, of Burton Road, Dudley, was charged with a safe movement violation after the 1980 Toyota she was driving collided with a 1988 Mazda driven by Robert M. Zongaro of Old Grantham Road. Ms. Jones was attempting to make a left turn onto Ash Street from the parking lot of Save More at 1903 E. Ash St. Damage to each vehicle was set at $2,500.

DWI Charge

The following person was charged with driving while impaired by Wayne County law enforcement officers:

*Andrea Michelle Braswell, 27, Seymour Drive, .10 percent blood alcohol content, $500 bond.
