Carver to hold Fall Festival Saturday

MOUNT OLIVE -- Carver Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival on Saturday.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school, which is off N.C. 55 East in Mount Olive at 400 Old Seven Springs Road.
The event, sponsored by the school's PTSO, will feature live music and performances, including the Malpass Family, which starts the festival off at 10 a.m.
Students from Dancin' Daze and Mrs. Robin's Academy of Dance and Gymnastics will perform, as well as members of The Arts Company of Faison.
Other performances will be by the Carver School's 4th- and 5th-grade choruses and by other Carver students. Local musician Kim Stevens of Grantham will end with a performance at 1:30 p.m.
Concessions will include hot dogs, fresh cooked BBQ sandwiches and authentic Mexican tacos.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office will give out balloons and children's safety materials, and the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park will sponsor an exhibit and information about the park. Crafts and gifts from area vendors will be on display for sale. Other activities include games like Treasure Chest, Penny Drop, Prize in a Haystack and a Cake Walk.
Proceeds from the festival benefit Carver's teachers and students.
