Shooting
Deleak Curtis Lofton, 24, of Grantham Street, suffered three gunshot wounds Monday afternoon when an unknown subject got out of a maroon vehicle and began shooting at him with a rifle, according to police reports. The suspect chased Lofton briefly before fleeing east on Vine Street. Lofton is in stable condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Missing
*Brittany Shunice "Britt" Morgan, 16, was reported missing from her home on Force Road by her grandmother. Brittany was described as a black female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighting 155 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and medium skin. She was last seen wearing a red shirt with blue jeans and white shoes.
*Eugene Fitzgerald Dantzler, 16, was reported missing from his home on Bayleaf Drive. He was described as a black male with black hair, brown eyes, facial hair and medium skin, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. According to reports, he left for school on Friday and has not returned.
Accidents
*Anthony Hall, 36, was charged with failure to reduce speed after his 1958 Ford ran off the road on First Church Road, striking and damaging a fence owned by the state. Damage to the truck was set at $5,000. Damage to the fence was estimated at $2,000.
*A vehicle reported stolen was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Olivia Lane. A 1990 Nissan stuck a 2000 Nissan driven by Thomas McCuller, 53, of Mimosa Street, while attempting to make a right turn. The occupants of the 1990 Nissan fled the scene. The vehicle had been reported stolen by George A. Cooper of Pikeville. Damage to the 1990 Nissan was set at $800, while damage to McCuller's vehicle was set at $1,800.
*A 1994 GMC truck owned by Ivey's Spring Creek Farm wrecked when the driver, Angel Ambriz Ponce, failed to stop at a stop sign on R.P. 1326 before attempting a right turn on N.C. 581, authorities said. The vehicle struck a guard rail before coming to a rest. Damage was set at $7,000.
Break-ins
*David Melvin Crisp Jr. told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that someone broke into his utility barn at Ditch Bank Road and stole items valued at more than $200. Missing from the barn were a green weed trimmer, fishing rod and gas can.
*Mildred Alice DePiero of New Hope Village Driver reported jewelry and money stolen from her home. Missing were diamond and ruby earrings valued at $600, a ruby and diamond woman's ring valued at $750 and approximately $1,000 cash.
*Employees at Pay Day Pawn on East Ash Street reported an unknown subject stole a 14-carat gold Seiko watch valued at $599 from the store.
*A witness told Goldsboro police that two black men entered a Southco Distributing Co. truck on Olivia Lane and stole several items on Monday. Among the missing items were cigarettes valued at $900.
*Melissa Faye Chambers of First Presbyterian Church on Ash Street told police that someone threw a brick, breaking a kitchen window at the church. The window was valued at $250. It was not immediately clear if there was anything stolen.
Truck recovered
Joseph Corbett of Hood Swamp Road reported several items missing from his GMC truck after it was recovered in a parking lot on Corporate Drive. Missing from the truck were a tool box, fishing rod, electric razor and two jacks, valued at more than $1,000.
