City Council will meet Tuesday at 7

The Goldsboro City Council will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall after a briefing session at 5 p.m.
At the briefing, council members will discuss efforts to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina, the acquisition of land for Stoney Creek Park, minimum housing inspections and police efforts to stem crime in the city.
During the meeting, council members will consider rezoning of property on the east side of New Hope Road between Hare Road and Shelley Drive from residential to office and institutional, a railroad crossing signal on Bain Street, a proposed agreement with the state Department of Transpor-tation for the reinspection of bridges on the municipal street system, a budget amendment for the Stoney Creek Park plan and change orders for the City Hall building expansion.
They also will consider site plan revisions for several properties, including Kingston Place Subdivision, Wayne Community College, Subway sandwich shop and the Wayne County Farm Bureau.
A public comment period will be held at the end of the meeting.
