Mayor Donald Rains and incumbent town Commissioners David Starling and Larry Withrow have filed for re-election in Princeton, a Johnston County Board of Elections official said Thursday.
No opponents have filed. The filing period ends Aug. 5.
Rains will be seeking his third two-year term. Starling will be seeking his fourth four-year term, and Withrow will be seeking his second full term.
Withrow had been appointed in 1998 to fill out the unexpired portion of the term of the late Ralph Gurley. He was elected in 1999 to fill the final two years of Gurley's term and then was re-elected in 2001 to a full term.
