Proposed train routes

The N.C. Department of Transportation has endorsed both Goldsboro, Fayetteville routes for Raleigh-to-Wilmington passenger trains.
Better freight service would add nearly $200 million economic impact and at least 320 jobs over 20 years to eastern N.C., DOT estimates.
The project would cost as much as $190 million, including $67 million to restore 27 miles of track.
