Miss Goldsboro Kandis Weeks did not place in the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant held this past weekend in Raleigh.
However, Goldsboro's two younger contestants did.
Crystal Michelle Vinson, 17., participating in the teen division of the pageant, was voted Miss Congeniality by the other 30 participants.
Laura Allison Vinson, 11, won the talent portion of the pageant's youngest division, the Carolina Princess competition for girls ages 11 through 16.
Both are the daughters of Danny and Debbie Vinson of Rosewood.
Not only did Goldsboro have several contestants in the pageant, but some of its former crown holders assisted in its production. Former Miss Goldsboros Angie Mozingo and Michelle Braxton sang the national anthem during the event. Former Miss Goldsboro Rhonda Wells Greenup was a contestants hostess, supervising girls who were staying at Peace College throughout the week.
