The Wayne Community College Board of Trustees recently adopted a policy setting criteria for naming new buildings on campus.
Building names will recognize significant service or a major financial contribution to the college, the trustees said. They will receive a recommendation at one meeting and wait until the next to make a decision in order to give them time to weigh community support for the choice.
It will require a gift of at least $1 million to have a building named for an individual, the trustees decided, but a contribution does not guarantee a person's name will be used.
