The Boys & Girls clubs of Wayne County are planning a big summer for children.

Daily activities include games room stuff like ping pong, billiards, foosball, air hockey and board games. The members also do arts and crafts, educational programs, a computer lab and play in the gym. The club also has physical fitness challenges.

The members go on field trips every week and have special "fun-days," cook-outs, gardening projects, pizza buffets, movies, intramural basketball league and speakers on various occupations.

The Early Bird Program will be held at the Main Unit on Royall Avenue and the Mount Olive Unit on South Breazeale Avenue. Hours will be Monday through Friday 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is a one-time Early Bird registration fee of $10 per family, a $10 membership fee per each child and a weekly fee of $35 per child. Regular non-early bird membership will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Operating hours at the Northern Wayne Unit will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For information, monthly calendars and specific planned activities, contact Marvin Ford at the Main Unit on Royall Avenue, 735-2358; Andreta Wooten at the Northern Wayne Unit in Fremont, 242-3276; and Cynthia Jones at the Mount Olive Unit, 658-9836.
