Water line flushing
Goldsboro employees who are flushing waterlines overnight will begin work in a new area Sunday night.
The new areas to be serviced are Wayne Memorial Drive, W. New Hope Road, Cox Boulevard, Hare Road, Forest Hill Drive, Woodberry Drive, Pine Crest Drive, Chafin Road, Batson Circle;
Also, Cuyler Best Road, Hardingwood Drive, Sunset Drive, Tonya Drive, S. Harding Drive, N. Parkway Drive, Park Drive, Berkeley Boulevard, Worrell Street, Hill Drive Circle, Lisa Lane, Lemuel Drive, Boyette Drive, Scotty Drive, Monroe Lane, Burtus Drive;
Also, Daniel Drive, Shelley Drive, Todd Drive, Kay Dee Street, Mimosa Park Drive, Birch Circle, Pinemont Circle, Violet Street, South Street, Birch Drive, Green Drive, Oak Hill Drive, Cedar Road, Myrtle Drive, Holly Road, Forest Drive, Woodbine Street, Pinewood Drive, Pinewood Circle and New Hope Road.
Residents may experience discolored water during the process.
Memorial service
A memorial service will be held Sunday at Willowdale Cemetery to honor the hundreds of Confederate soldiers buried there in the waning days of the Civil War.
The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Dr. Alan Lamm, a history professor at Mount Olive College, will be the guest speaker.
Dr. Alan Armstrong, a music professor at the college, will play the bagpipes. The public is invited.
