Scholarship applications sought

KENANSVILLE -- James Sprunt Community College is accepting applications for the Herring Scholarship for academic year 2005-2006.
The application deadline for first priority consideration is June 6.
The Herring Scholarship provides support for financial needs of a diverse spectrum of students who demonstrate good citizenship, high moral character and potential for leadership. Herring Scholarship awards can be used for tuition, fees, educational supplies and other educational expenses as approved by the Herring Scholarship Selection Committee.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must reside in Duplin County or in the town of Mount Olive and be accepted for admission to James Sprunt Community College. The applicants must submit a complete Herring Scholarship application package to the Office of Admissions at James Sprunt and complete the an application for federal student aid. Application packages are available by calling the College Advancement office at James Sprunt Community College at 910-296-2417 or by accessing the college Web site .
