FAISON -- Goshen Medical Center will receive a $463,000 grant to help provide health care to Goldsboro's migrants and homeless people.
Dr. Greg Bounds, the director at Goshen, said the center is one of only 17 in the nation that received one of the grants this month.
It was the only one in North Carolina and is for the creation of a new medical center. Another 88 medical centers will receive grants that will be announced in December as the 2006 money comes available.
Altogether, the 105 grants totaled $63 million and came from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.
