An Albertson woman injured in a wreck Thursday night near the Wayne-Lenoir county line remained in serious condition Saturday night at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Ashley Renee Adams, 20, was taken by helicopter to Pitt after the car she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of N.C. 55 and N.C. 903, about a mile east of Seven Springs.
Witnesses said the truck, driven by Brandon Eric White, 24, of Kenansville, failed to stop for a stop sign.
Trooper G.S. Hemby of the state Highway Patrol said Friday charges were pending.
The truck was owned by JK Trucking of Kenansville.
Emergency workers from both Lenoir and Wayne counties were dispatched to the accident scene. Ms. Adams' car was a total loss. Damages to the tractor-trailer were estimated at $9,000.
