Knife found
A 15-year-old Goldsboro High School student was charged Wednesday by police with possession of a weapon on campus.
The student, who was not identified because of his age, was referred to juvenile authorities.
The police report said a bus driver had told a school administrator that the student had a knife. The student was searched, and a paring knife was recovered, police said.
Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A desktop computer, a combination printer and fax machine, a color printer, a combination television and video cassette recorder and $3,000 worth of collectible stamps have been stolen after a door was damaged at H&H Produce Inc. at 111 J&L Lane, sheriff's deputies said. The other stolen property was valued at $3,100. Damage was set at $30.
*Two neighbors in the 100 block of Woodside Circle reported that their homes were broken into Wednesday, deputies said. Yuka Marie Simpson said jewelry, shoes and $10 were stolen after a door and a window were damaged. The jewelry and shoes were valued at $1,000, and damage was set at $90. David Callejas Arroyo reported the theft of clothes, valued at $200. He estimated damage at $100.
*A wallet with $1,340 was stolen from a woman employee at Goldsboro Hog Farms on Eagles Nest Road, deputies said. Yolanda Ramirez of Dudley said she had the money because she had sold her car to another worker. The woman who bought the car, Elva Ponce of Mount Olive, said $20 had been stolen from her.
*A $50 roll of quarters was stolen Wednesday after a door and water lines were damaged at a home in the 1800 block of New Hope Road, deputies said. The resident, Pedro Ortiz Sanchez, set damage at $370.
*A white, four-door 1994 Buick Regal was stolen Wednesday from the 300 block of Horse Pen Lane near Mount Olive, deputies said. The owner and resident, Felipe Manuel Segura, said the car was worth $2,200.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Projectiles on Wednesday damaged two homes in Goldsboro, police said. A bullet shattered a window and hit a dresser in the Lola Smith apartment in the 800 block of Olivia Lane. Damage was set at $75. A projectile also broke a window at the Castelloe Gardiner home in the 900 block of South Andrews Avenue. Damage was put at $20.
*An unknown amount of packing supplies, moving carts and packing blankets were stolen Wednesday from Security Storage Co. at 106 S. Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway, police said. The property was recovered from a home on Carolina Street and a storage unit.
