Students at Wayne Community College are sponsoring the creation of a "Hope Monument" on campus.
A campaign to sell engraved bricks began this week and will run through June 30.
Plans for the monument were inspired by the late Dr. Ed Hogan, an instructor at the college. It is intended to honor the achievements of faculty, staff, students and alumni of the college.
Plans for the monument call for it to be located in front of the new Continuing Education Building.
It will be part of a new Commemorataive Circle that will be the central feature of the new plaza and walkway in front of the building.
Individual bricks may be purchased for $50. Business sponsorships are $250 and corporate sponsorships are $500.
More information about the monument and the drive to build it may be obtained by calling 735-5151, ext. 290.
