First District Congressman G.K. Butterfield will meet with the public twice during a visit to Goldsboro on Tuesday, March 29.
From 2:30-3:30 p.m., the congressman will be at Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center, 2110 N. William St., for a discussion with religious leaders of ideas of how to improve the community.
"The purpose of this gathering is to recognize clergy and faith-based leaders as important resources and invaluable partners in helping to shape positive public policy that helps to foster better communities," said the Rev. Dr. William Barber.
Then, Butterfield will hold a "Town Hall" meeting from 5-6 p.m. at the Wayne County Courthouse. The topic will be proposed changes to the Social Security system.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Also, the congressman is scheduled to meet earlier in the day with the Wayne County commissioners and Goldsboro council members to talk about any needs the city and county have for federal funding.
