Dive-in movie
The Family Y will be showing "The Incredibles" as its dive-in movie Friday. The showing will begin at 7 p.m.
The Y shows the movie on the wall of its swimming pool area, allowing people to watch from the water or the deck.
Large inflatibles will be set up in the water after 4:30 p.m., so kids can climb aboard a 20-foot alligator or compete on a 50-foot obstacle course. People are also welcome to bring their own rafts.
It's a free event for Y members and $1 for non-members. The Y will also be selling popcorn.
All children must be supervised by adults. A life guard will be on duty. The dive-in movies are held the last Friday of each month.

Savy dog in Faison
Faison Police Chief Danny Brock says he's having trouble catching a very savvy big black and white dog that's been terrorizing townspeople.
It hides out during the day, and it won't eat the food he puts in the town's trap, whether it's raw chicken or raw hamburger. The county doesn't have a tranquilizer gun.
It's very smart, said the chief. He believes it used to belong to somebody, because the tail has been cut off, and it wears a collar.
It's illegal for Brock to shoot the dog unless he sees it attack someone or it attacks him. If a property owner sees it attack a pet, that person can shoot it. But then it's against town ordinance to discharge a firearm in the city limits.
